Erik ten Hag has chаllenged Amad Diallo to elevate his game following a standout performance in Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Rangers.
Diallo, who scored one of United’s goals and played a crucial role in the win at Murrayfield, was the standout player, showcasing his attacking prowess and finishing with a superb goal.
In his 45 minutes on the pitch, Diallo was a constant threat to Rangers’ defense, opening the scoring in the 39th minute with a precise left-footed shot after cutting inside.
After struggling with injuries last season and spending much of the time on the bench, Diallo is now expected to build on his promising return to form. Ten Hag, speaking to MUTV after the match, praised Diallo and set a high bar for him this season.
“We need to see a different Amad now,” Ten Hag stated. “He’s young, but he’s no longer inexperienced. After a tough season with injuries and a previous successful stint in the Championship, he’s shown good form in the first team.”
Ten Hag emphasized that this season must be a turning point for Diallo, expressing his satisfaction with the player’s early season performance.
Regarding new signings, Ten Hag also expressed approval of the club’s proactive approach, noting the recent additions of Leny Yoro from Lille and Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. Yoro impressed on his debut, and Ten Hag appreciated the club’s ambition and strategic moves.
Manchester United will next face Arsenal in California on Sunday.
