ļ»æIn 2007, Hollywood icons Tom Cruise and Will Smith gave David Beckham a grand welcome to the United States when he signed with LA Galaxy.
Following Beckham’s high-profile transfer from Real Madrid, the two legendary actors hosted an extravagant celebration in his honor.
Tom Cruise and Will Smith organized a star-studded party for Beckhamās arrival at LA Galaxy.
The celebration, likened to an after-Oscars event, featured a who’s who of the entertainment world, including Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey, Matthew Perry, and Stevie Wonder. Victoria and David Beckham were the focal point of the festivities.
David Beckham recounted the event in his Netflix documentary series, recalling Cruise’s invitation: āI remember Tom turning around and saying āme and Will are going to throw you a party.ā I was surprised and asked, āWill?ā To which he replied, āWill Smith!āā
Beckhamās friend and business partner, David Gardner, described the party as a star-studded affair, saying, āIt was like being in Madame Tussauds; everywhere you looked, there was a famous person. Then the piano started, and Stevie Wonder began singing Happy Birthday.ā
Former LA Galaxy player Kyle Martino added, āWe had to make a circle for Tom Cruise to redo the choreography for the Risky Business dance scene.ā
During his time with LA Galaxy, Beckham scored 20 goals and provided 42 assists in 124 appearances before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. He later returned to Major League Soccer to establish Inter Miami.
