MANCHESTER UNITED legend Roy Keane was recently seen donning an ARSENAL shirt while covering Euro 2024 in Germany.
Keane, 52, a fan favorite who spent 12 years at Manchester United from 1993 to 2005, made a surprising appearance in rival colors.
On social media, Alex wrote: “Seeing Roy Keane in an Arsenal shirt was not on my 2024 bingo card.
Roy Keane, usually associated with Manchester United, was seen sporting an Arsenal shirt.
Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira shared a humorous reaction to witnessing Keane, a long-time Manchester United rival, buying ice cream in an Arsenal shirt, as reported by The Sun.
During his 12-year tenure at Manchester United, Keane served as captain and won 17 trophies, making him one of the club’s most decorated players.
However, in a surprising twist, he seemed to switch loyalties briefly while in Germany.
Keane arrived at a studio in Germany wearing an Arsenal shirt, which left Gunners legend Ian Wright astonished.
“It suits you,” Wright remarked. “Man United fans are gonna lose it!”
Keane also showed off a matching shirt with ‘Wright 8’ on the back.
Despite previously admitting his intense dislike for Arsenal during his playing days, Keane shared:
“I had a lot of animosity towards Arsenal because they were our major rivals.
“The word that comes to mind when I think of facing Arsenal is hatred.
“Typically, you like a few players on opposing teams, but I can’t recall liking anyone at Arsenal.
“As a player, I used that feeling to fuel my game, knowing I had to be at my angriest to perform my best against Arsenal.
“Arsenal brought out something unique in me that no other team did.”
Despite his historical animosity towards Arsenal, Keane has since formed a close friendship with former Gunner Ian Wright.
Both of them co-host the “Stick to Football” podcast and work together on ITV Sport.
The reason for Keane’s unеxpеcted choice of attire rеmains unclear, but fans speculated online that it might have been a forfeit or related to his work on the podcast.
