Captain Andy Robertson praised Scotland’s response to their heavy defeаt in the first game, saying, “That was more typical of us. There’s no need to worry.”
Steve Clarke’s team needed a tremendous effort to stay competitive after being thrashed 5-1 by Germany last week.
Scotland secured a draw against Switzerland. Captain Andy Robertson was pleased with the character he and his teammates showed as they secured a draw and revived their Group A prospects.
“It was much more characteristic of us, аggrеssivе and on the front foot. We got off to a good start. They had chances, but so did we, and it was a fair game,” Robertson stated.
“We’re much happier with that, and we could have scored. But we’ll take the draw and push it to the final game, which is all we could ask for.”
Scott McTominay’s deflected 13th-minute strike was canceled out by a miraculous goal from Xherdan Shaqiri following a mistake by Tony Ralston.
Robertson continued, “We made a mistake, but Tony Ralston was great after the error. It was a difficult one for him, but fair play to him for recovering.”
This result and performance give Scotland a fighti𝚗g chance of making the last 16 ahead of their final group encounter against Hungary on Sunday.
