Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo continues to impress with his talents, but now a new one has been discovered.
After the FA Cup final, Kobbie Mainoo‘s stock is at an all-time high as he scored what turned out to be the winner against Manchester City.
The Manchester United wonderkid has shown so many qualities in his seven months being in the first-team as his dribbling, passing and also goalscoring all caught the eye.
Mainoo’s footballing IQ is also immense for a 19-year-old as he regularly outthinks and out-plays his senior opposition including Rodri last time out.
But now it’s been reported that Steve McClaren noticed another strength about Mainoo, and we saw it in action during the FA Cup final.

What Steve McClaren noticed about Kobbie Mainoo for Manchester United
One thing from the FA Cup final which was interesting was the choice to have Mainoo defending corners against Erling Haaland.
Now in a report by The Athletic, this has all been explained with coach Steve McClaren taking over set-pieces responsibilities since Eric Ramsay departed earlier this year.
McClaren therefore chose to put Mainoo on Haaland with the reason being the 19-year-old’s strength, which the coach clearly thought would be enough to overpower Haaland, and he was right.
During a late corner, Mainoo actually outmuscled his opponent and it was caught on camera too, with it becoming a real talking point as fans loved what they saw, showing an underrated side of Mainoo’s game.
Kobbie Mainoo shows why Clarence Seedorf comparisons are spot on
At only 19, to have the strength Mainoo does, to put a 6ft 4in Norweigan onto the floor, is very impressive.
This kind of physical display proves that comparisons to the legendary Clarence Seedorf by Rio Ferdinand are absolutely spot on.
Seedorf as a midfielder was physically dominant and paired this with his sublime technical ability which is what made him so good and remembered even today as a great of the game.
Mainoo isn’t quite that dominant just yet, however, he’s showing every sign that he will be in the near future, and when he is, it’ll be a real problem for the rest of the Premier League.
