Manchester United’s teenagers led them to a stunning FA Cup final triumph.

On the half-hour mark, Alejandro Garnacho tapped into an empty Wembley net after Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol and Stefan Ortega made a defensive error.

Mainoo coolly tapped past Stefan Ortega, making it 2-0.

Then, nine minutes later, Kobbie Mainoo made it 2-0 with style.

Garnacho advanced down the right, passing inside to captain Bruno Fernandes, who delivered a superb, first-time, no-look pass for the young academy graduate.

At the other end, Andre Onana produced a number of brilliant saves to keep United ahead, including a magnificent diving attempt to deny Kyle Walker.

The Red Devils breathed a sigh of relief as Erling Haaland’s shot hit the crossbar before Julian Alvaraz sneaked one wide.

City continued to try for a footing, but the Red Devils’ wall remained strong.

That was until the 87th minute, when Onana screwed up.

Jeremy Doku cut inside and delivered a risky low strike.

 

But what appeared to be a simple save for the Cameroonian goalkeeper was anything but, as he fumbled his attempt, allowing the ball to go into the bottom corner of the net and bring the Premier League champions back into the game.

 

Seven minutes on the fourth official’s board did nothing to calm United’s concerns.

 

But after what seemed like an age for the red half of Wembley, Andy Madley blew the final whistle.
