Cole Palmer has been awarded the Premier League’s Hublot Young Player of the Season Award after a remarkable debut season with Chelsea.
Joining Chelsea from Manchester City on deadline day, Palmer has delivered consistently high-quality performances throughout his first year with the Blues. The 22-year-old England international has scored 22 league goals and provided 10 assists, totaling an impressive 32 goal involvements in just 33 appearances this season.
Palmer’s exceptional form places him second in the Premier League rankings for combined goals and assists, with one game remaining. He is the first Chelsea player to win this award since its inception following the 2019/20 season, when Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold claimed the honor.
Before his recent 22nd birthday, Palmer became only the third player in Premier League history to achieve over 30 goal involvements in a single season while aged 21 or younger. He also equaled Chelsea legends Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard’s record of 16 home Premier League goals in a season. Notable highlights of Palmer’s season include a four-goal performance against Everton and a dramatic hat-trick in the win over Manchester United.
Palmer faced tough competition for the title, including Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, and Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie.
Congratulations to Cole Palmer on an outstanding season!
