Surprise and Backlash: Rasmus Hojlund’s Reaction to Erik ten Hag’s Decision in Man United’s Draw with Burnley

Rasmus Hojlund looked confused when Kobbie Mainoo was taken off during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Burnley, as shown in new video.

Erik ten Hag’s Premier League problems continued, and it was a tough game for the United striker at Old Trafford. His boss took him off late in the second half.

Hojlund joined United from Atalanta in the summer for £72 million. During his first season at the club, he has become close with Mainoo and fellow young player Alejandro Garnacho.

Christian Eriksen, Hojlund’s international teammate, kept his spot in center, and it was clear that United fans were upset as the two changes were made.

Later, there were boos at the end of the game when Zeki Amdouni scored from the penalty spot after goalie Andre Onana made a mistake late in the game.

As Hojlund walked back to the bench, he saw Mainoo’s name appear on the fourth official’s board. He shook his head and pursed his lips in displeasure.

Mainoo, who came up through the United school, has been one of the team’s best players this season after making it to the first team and becoming a regular starter.

Gareth Southgate called him up to Gareth Southgate’s England team because of how well he played. He is now likely to play for the Three Lions at the upcoming European Championship.

Ten Hag, the manager of United, talked about his replacements after the game and said that younger players in his team who are in their first full season as seniors are more likely to get tired.

Ten Hag said, “I am the manager, and I have to decide what the team needs.”

“Taking off very young players who are in their first year of the Premier League and are getting tired was the right thing to do.”

“Both Maenoo and Hohlund have been hurt this season, and I want to keep them safe,” he said.
