Nico Williams has put an end to all speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Athletic Bilbao, extending until June 2027. However, with the star Spanish forward’s release clause set at around €50M, opportunities still exist for financially robust clubs.

Reportedly, Williams has garnered interest from top Premier League clubs, notably Chelsea, who are looking to bolster their attacking lineup due to underperforming forwards. With Williams, the issue of the wing-forward position could be effectively addressed.

According to sources from Football Insider, Chelsea is accelerating negotiations, willing to activate Williams’ contract release clause with a €50 million bid, contingent upon the player’s approval.

Therefore, the London-based club has approached Williams’ representatives to understand the terms, aiming to finalize the deal before the summer transfer window opens.
