Chelsea Football Club is thrilled to announce that defender Alfie Gilchrist has inked a new contract, extending his stay at the club until 2026, with an option for an additional year.
The promising talent, a product of Chelsea’s esteemed Academy, has flourished under the guidance of manager Mauricio Pochettino this season, making 12 appearances for the senior squad.
Expressing his delight, Gilchrist remarked, “Signing this contract at Chelsea is a massive achievement for me and my family. It was a no-brainer, and every time I’ve signed a contract here, it has felt nicer and nicer. But now I want to keep pushing on and keep improving.”

A devoted Chelsea supporter since his youth, Gilchrist joined the club’s Academy at the age of 11 and has risen through the ranks at Cobham with determination and skill.
Having showcased his talent during the 2020/21 campaign, Gilchrist emerged as a regular for the Under-18s, captaining the side on numerous occasions and earning recognition as Scholar of the Year before signing a professional contract.
In the subsequent season, Gilchrist led the Under-18s to victory in the Premier League Cup and made notable contributions to the Under-21s, solidifying his position as a key player.
His consistent performances caught the eye of the coaching staff, leading to his promotion to the senior squad. Since then, Gilchrist has made a significant impact, making 12 appearances and impressing with his composure and defensive prowess.
