At dawn on March 24, 16 teams participating in the 48th CONMEBOL Copa America were determined.

Canada defeated Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in the playoff match on the morning of March 24, thereby participating in the Copa America for the first time. In the other match, Costa Rica came back from an early deficit to overcome Honduras 3-1 and advance to South America’s largest football festival for the sixth time.

With victory in the CONCACAF play-off round, Canada and Costa Rica became the final two teams to qualify for the world’s oldest national team tournament. In addition to them, four other teams from the North Central America region will participate in the 2024 Copa America edition: USA, Mexico, Panama and Jamaica.

The Canadian team with Alphonso Davies as the leader will join Group A, they have their opening match on June 20 against Argentina, the ϲоnfrontation is held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. In addition, Peru and Chile are other members of this group.

Copa America 2024 will have 32 matches taking place in 14 stadiums. The tournament has been expanded to include teams from CONCACAF in 2024, with matches to be held at locations across the United States.
