Since his arrival, Palmer has excelled at Chelsea, playing a crucial role in their journey to the FA Cup semi-finals, notably scoring in their 4-2 win over Leicester. With 14 goals and 12 assists, he has emerged as the standout performer for the Blues this season, garnering attention not only from his national team but also from other clubs.

In light of his stellar displays, England manager Gareth Southgate has called up Palmer for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, following his two caps earned in November. According to the Daily Star, Chelsea’s hierarchy is gearing up to reward Palmer for his sensational debut season by offering him an improved contract and salary.

Reports suggest that Palmer’s wages will almost double, with expectations of earning around £150,000 per week next season. This figure would place him in a similar earning bracket to some of his more experienced yet underperforming teammates. While Palmer’s immediate focus remains on aiding Chelsea’s FA Cup quest, he also harbors aspirations of representing England in the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

Furthermore, it’s reported that Chelsea will present Palmer with a lucrative long-term contract, contingent upon him securing a place in the national team’s squad for the tournament. In a recent match against Leicester, Palmer was denied the chance to take a penalty by Raheem Sterling, who subsequently failed to extend Chelsea’s lead. Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink criticized the decision, arguing that Palmer, as the designated penalty taker, should have been given the opportunity, particularly with a 1-0 advantage.
