Cole Palmer is amazing in Chelsea’s matchup against Newcastle! England prospect lights up as Blues secure a victory over profligate Newcastle that boosts confidence. 

On Monday night, the two prospects for the Three Lions had quite different outcomes at Stamford Bridge.

Without Cole Palmer, where in the world would Chelsea be? In a much-needed 3-2 victory over Newcastle on Monday night, their £42.5 million ($52 million) summer acquisition from Manchester City proved to be the difference once more. He assisted himself to his 18th and 19th Premier League goal contributions of the season.

Within six minutes, Jackson’s deft flip put Palmer’s low shot past a diving Martin Dubravka, giving the Blues the lead. But they paid a price after missing several opportunities to protect their lead. After a series of mishaps, Alexander Isak managed to find enough room on the outskirts of the box to finish with a beautiful equaliser.

Palmer, though, was going to have a little magic up his sleeve for Chelsea in what was looking like a very equal second half. He received a pass from Enzo Fernandez on the edge of the box just before the hour mark, and his first touch was flawless, giving him enough space to smash the ball through Sven Botman’s legs and into the back of the net.Mykhailo Mudryk, a substitute, ensured the win when Newcastle started to press. He danced through the Magpies defence, got past Dubravka, and then finished it off. As the outcome was certain, the Blues fans broke into an impromptu performance of Bob Marley’s iconic Three Little Birds, but Jacob Murphy’s last-minute scream raised the stakes.

Naturally, Mauricio Pochettino still has a lot of unanswered questions, but this performance will help to lessen the gloom that has pervaded Stamford Bridge this season after more than a year of thin pickings.

Become more confident with his distribution after being a touch wobbly at first. Not much he could do to achieve either aim.

Malo Gusto (6/10):

Isak scored a curling equaliser in the first half, and he was punished for overplaying. Unfortunately, because he was occasionally brilliant moving forward.

Axel Disasi (score of 6/10):

gave Isak excessive time to prepare for his leveller. was adamant in his defence of the opposite.

Chalobah Trevoh (5/10):

failed to win the ball and charged out just before Isak’s equaliser. It wasn’t very well distributed.

Marc Cucurella: (Score: 6)

On his first Premier League start since October 2023, fared well against the dual threats of Livramento and Almiron, but he did overcommit in the build-up to Murphy’s equaliser.Enzo Fernandez, midfield (7/10):

fizzed the ball through the lines to set up Palmer’s goal and break up play very successfully. did, however, suffer a few careless moments.

Caicedo Moises (7/10):

made a few spectacular tackles and performed admirably most of the time.

Conor Gallagher: 6 out of 10

Aggressive and skillfully created a few favourable gaps on his side. Despite having minimal knowledge of Mudryk’s goal, he was given credit for an assist.Attack Palmer, Cole (9/10):

Simply amazing. Without him, Chelsea would be at a loss.

Nicolas Jackson (7 out of 10):

demonstrated creativity to give his team an early advantage. Play on links was excellent.

Sterling Raheem (4/10):

Appointed for a little infraction. Generally speaking, the latter third is somewhat wasteful. Must begin taking on greater responsibility on a more frequent basis as the team’s senior member.Manager Mykhailo Mudryk and the Subs (8/10):

came out with a terrific goal and a point to prove.

N/A Cesare Casadei:

I was only on for a short while, but I did commit a careless foul.

Chukwuemeka Carney (N/A):

A cameo even brief than Casadei’s.

7/10 for Mauricio Pochettino:

seemed especially happy at full time, which makes sense. At full time, he was greeted warmly by the supporters behind the dugout, indicating that there may yet be hope for him as a manager.
