Djordje Petrovic expressed his frustration after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Brentford but is swiftly redirecting focus to the upcoming clash with Newcastle on Monday. Despite Axel Disasi’s late equalizer salvaging a point, Petrovic, who delivered another solid performance in goal, emphasized the team’s disappointment at not securing all three points.

Reflecting on the Brentford draw, Petrovic acknowledged the team’s control in the first half but expressed disappointment over conceding two goals in the second half. However, he sees the match against Newcastle as a prime opportunity to bounce back and secure a win.

“Our goal for every game is to take three points,” said Djordje Petrovic. “Now, we must focus on the next game and putting it right against Newcastle. With the match being on Monday night, we have a lot of time to recover and focus on what we need to do to get the three points there.”

Having become Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper following Robert Sanchez’s injury at the end of last year, Petrovic is delighted to contribute to the team’s efforts. He believes there is still much at stake in both the league and the FA Cup and views recent challenging encounters, such as the Brentford draw and the Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool, as valuable learning experiences for the young Chelsea side.

“The final was a good experience even though it wasn’t the end result we wanted. We are a young team, and it was a good lesson for us, to improve for next time,” Petrovic added. “We have big games coming up in both the Premier League and the FA Cup, and there is still so much for us to achieve this season.”
