Gallagher happy to provide fans with a moment of joy, ‘It was a fantastic goal and a great pass from Enzo’

Conor Gallagher, who scored our late game winner, says Chelsea’s FA Cup victory over Leeds United was all about the players giving back to the Blues fans, and he was happy to provide the pivotal moment for them to enjoy.

Celebrating our progress to the quarter-finals with Ben Chilwell at the final whistleIn the FA Cup’s fifth round, Chelsea played Leeds United, rekindling their long-standing rivalry that began with our previous match in the same cup, in which the Blues famously prevailed after a replay in the 1970 championship.

After falling behind early on, we battled back to take the lead at the break, but after Leeds equalised, the game was rather evenly balanced until Conor Gallagher scored the game-winning goal in the ninetieth minute. The strike, which spun free on the brink of the box before slamming into the net, had all the drama and brilliance of a great strike.

Gallagher nets the winning goalThree days prior, Gallagher had been devastated by our Carabao Cup final extra-time loss to Liverpool. He was happy to give Chelsea fans and his teammates a victory over their longtime rivals.

Conor stated, “We wanted to bounce back and give the fans something to celebrate because Sunday was a big disappointment.” “Thank God, we completed that last night.”There was a wonderful vibe. Although Leeds supporters are usually fervent and boisterous, I thought our supporters were excellent as well, especially in light of the recent setback. I must thank them for that, and maybe we gave them something to be happy about.

“It was very difficult for the players to recover.” Although it’s obvious that everyone has been depressed lately, we wanted to make sure we were prepared for this match because it was so crucial.

“Physically, I was okay coming off the bench against Leeds the other day, but we really need to give a lot of credit to the guys who played the entire game after playing 120 minutes.” It was a significant change and well-executed. I felt that we persevered and, happily, ultimately prevailed.

Gallagher was personally thrilled to carry on his recent success in front of goal. The midfielder has four goals in his past five games, which is more than the three he scored for the Blues the previous season. He was disappointed in his attempts to find the net in the first half of the season despite strong overall performances.

The Blues celebrate our dramatic late winnerIt’s pleasant. It goes without saying that I enjoy scoring goals, and I had trouble doing so before the goals started to flow in. Hopefully, I can keep scoring more.

“It was a fantastic goal and a great pass from Enzo.” We were rather relieved to receive one right at the end because, well, it meant we wouldn’t need to take up any more time, and we were starting to look a little worn out.

Though we anticipated it would be really difficult, the game was fantastic. Leeds is a fantastic team and club that is having a great season. However, we persevered and, happily, ultimately achieved the objective. It was great to win that way.

Leicester is a fantastic team and another outstanding club. We want to compete as long as we can, therefore we need to prepare as much as possible because they’re performing so well in the Championship. We can’t wait for the upcoming round.
