Manchester City Secures Oscar Bobb with New Contract Extension Until 2029

Oscar Bobb, a winger for Manchester City, has recently signed a new transfer agreement with the club.

In the summer of 2026, the contract of the two-year-old player was scheduled to come to an end. The Norwegian international, on the other hand, has signed a deal that will keep him at the Etihad until the summer of 2029, thereby committing his future to the club.

Bobb released the following statement on the website of his club after he had signed his new deal: “I am very proud and honoured to have signed my new contract with City.”

I have already gained a great deal of knowledge from Pep, his coaching staff, and my teammates. It is both a wonderful environment and the best conceivable place for a young player to be. The knowledge that I will continue to work at the Club until the year 2029 is really significant to me.

“At this point, all I want to do is concentrate on continuing to advance my development and working as hard as I possibly can each and every day in an effort to assist the Club in achieving even greater success.”

In the summer of 2019, Bobb made the transition from the Norwegian club Valerenga to City, and since then, he has made significant progress via City’s development academy. During the 5-1 victory over Fulham that City achieved at the Etihad Stadium in September 2023, he made his debut with the first-team squad for City.

Additionally, he has made sixteen appearances for the first team across all competitions this season, during which he has scored two goals and provided two assists. Among his goals and assists are a goal scored against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League in December, as well as a goal scored in the 91st minute against Newcastle United in January.

The statement was made by Guardiola after Oscar Bobb scored the game-winning goal against Newcastle. “At the end of the season, Txiki (Begiristain, sporting director) told me that Oscar Bobb was the best player by far,” Guardiola stated.

It was then that I told him, “All right, go to Japan (for the pre-season) and begin training with us.” Instantaneously, Oscar was able to acquire something that is of the utmost significance: the reliance of his teammates. As a striker, right wing, left wing, and in the pockets, he is versatile.

In addition, Bobb made his first of four appearances for the senior national team in October, when Norway defeated Cyprus by a score of 4-0. When Norway defeated the Faroe Islands by a score of 2-0 on November 16, he scored his first goal for the senior team under his leadership.

The next game for City is scheduled for Tuesday, and it will be against Luton Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup. City is now one point behind Liverpool, who are the leaders of the league.
