Erling Haaland, who won the treble with Manchester City, is nominated for the prestigious Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award in April, with Lionel Messi, Novak Djokovic, and Max Verstappen.

Jude Bellingham, a prominent player from England, has the opportunity to win the Breakthrough of the Year award in Madrid, his hometown, after the nominees were announced.

Laureus announced the candidates for the 25th edition of their World Sports Awards on Monday morning following voting from 1,300 journalists and broadcasters worldwide.

The winners will be revealed during the ceremony in the Spanish capital on April 22 after discussions by the Laureus World Sports Academy, which consists of legendary athletes from the past and present.

Erling Haaland, a prominent player from Manchester City, has been selected as a nominee for a prestigious Laureus award.

Spanish footballer Aitana Bonmati has been nominated for the World Sportswoman of the Year award following her victories in the World Cup and the Ballon d’Or.

Shericka Jackson of Jamaica, Sha’Carri Richardson of the United States, and Kenyan distance runner Faith Kipyegon are all part of the group. Each of them achieved at least one gold medal at the World Championships.

Aitana Bonmati, a Spanish World Cup champion, was nominated for the World Sportswoman shortlist.

Shericka Jackson, a Jamaican sprinter, achieved victory in the 200m event at the World Championships held in Budapest.
