Middle Eastern connections are well-known for Manchester City, as Sheikh Mansour’s Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) acquired 90% of the team from Thaksin Shinawatra back in 2008.

With an average player salary of approximately £146,520 per week, the Citizens are among the Premier League’s largest wage spenders, with an annual payroll of an astounding £190,476,000. They did, however, make some small off-season cuts, with the yearly payroll for the 2023–2024 season falling by about £9,000,000.

Several big earners, such as Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo, Ilkay Gundogan, and Aymeric Laporte, left the team in the summer.
