Premier League 2023-24 Golden Boot Race Heats Up: Haaland Faces Stiff Competition for Top Goal Scorer Title

Who will challenge Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot in the Premier League?

As the season has progressed into its thicker second half, Haaland’s problematic ankle issue has caused him to miss a significant amount of time, adding to the list of potential winners. Although Haaland has scored three goals in his last three games, he has also squandered several significant opportunities as he recovers from rust.

Numerous attempts have been made, and Mohamed Salah even managed to tie his rival from Norway before heading out to the Africa Cup of Nations. Despite suffering a personal injury, Salah made a comeback on Saturday, scoring his 15th goal of the year to keep the chase alive.

Aside from Salah and Haaland, there is no clear favourite to win the Golden Boot in the Premier League for the 2023–24 campaign.

Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke lead North London opponents Heung-min Son and Bukayo Saka with 13 and 14, respectively, while Jarrod Bowen has cooled off but is still on 11. Up until 10, Hee-chan Hwang is accompanied by Cole Palmer, Richarlison, and Alexander Isak.

Even with Harry Kane absent in Germany (and now leading Haaland in the race for Europe’s Golden Shoe), it’s safe to say Haaland has a lot more competition this season.

Haaland, who set a new Premier League single season record with 36 goals, won the Golden Boot with Manchester City in 2022–2023 and will be looking to repeat the feat this season.
