Tuchel managed Chelsea for a little while while he was in England. He led Chelsea to consecutive Champions League finals and even won the championship in his first season there, marking a fairly successful tenure for him at Stamford Bridge. But once Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich’s ownership expired, Tuchel fell out with Chelsea’s current owners, led by Todd Boehly, and was fired in September 2022.
Despite the team’s current winning streak, Erik Ten Hag’s job as Manchester United’s head coach is still in jeopardy. Over the previous three years, United has spent a lot of money on players like Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, and Antony, but these acquisitions haven’t produced positive on-field results. As a result, United is currently five points outside of the top four in the league.
However, Tuchel’s departure from Bayern occurs at a difficult moment as the German powerhouse could miss out on the Bundesliga title for the first time in more than ten years. “After consulting with Tuchel, we decided to end our working relationship by mutual agreement in the summer,” stated Jan-Christian Dreesen, the CEO of Bayern Munich. The coach would leave the team on June 30 of this year, with his contract expiring in 2025. In the statement, Tuchel stated, “Until then, I will of course continue to do everything I can with my coaching staff to achieve maximum success.”
Bayern is eight points behind Xabi Alonso’s team, who has not lost this season, with twelve games remaining in the schedule. Leverkusen is now tied for the record with 32 games unbeaten in all competitions, established by Hansi Flick’s Bayern during the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. Following that, Bayern lost embarrassingly 3-2 to bottom-tier Bochum in the league and 1-0 to Italian team Lazio in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
