Manchester United Hold On for 2-1 Premier League Victory Over Luton Town Following Early Rasmus Hojlund Brace

Rasmus Hojlund scored twice in the first ten minutes of Manchester United’s Premier League matchup versus Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, giving the game the appearance of being a rout. But in the end, it was a close game as the home team scored a goal back to put United under a lot of pressure in the narrow loss.

Manchester United strengthened their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League with a 2-1 victory over struggling Luton Town, led by Rasmus Hojlund, who became the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League games.

In less than 40 seconds, the 21-year-old Dane opened the score when he took advantage of an error made by Amari’i Bell to go around Thomas Kaminski and roll home. After that, on minute seven, Hojlund scored his second goal of the match when he skillfully recovered to head home a volley from Alejandro Garnacho.

Under duress, United was lucky to finish the first half with just 11 players, as Casemiro managed to avoid a second caution for a late challenge on the formidable Ross Barkley.

After the break, the visitors got back together and wasted many opportunities through Bruno Fernandes, Garnacho, and Hojlund, but Rob Edwards’ team was unable to create a clear opening in order to salvage a point.

The outcome puts United in sixth place, three points behind Tottenham and five ahead of Aston Villa in fourth place. This is the first time United has won five straight games in all competitions in well over a year.
