Eden Hazard has confessed that Chelsea was not on his radar in 2012, considering other options before the Blues secured their Champions League victory. The Belgian winger, who was highly sought after, had discussions with Sir Alex Ferguson and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, even visiting Manchester City’s training ground. 

However, Hazard dismissed Chelsea due to their lackluster performance in the league that season. It was Chelsea’s Champions League triumph that altered his decision, and he acknowledges Didier Drogba’s pivotal role in the move. Hazard went on to become a Chelsea legend, contributing significantly to their success before joining Real Madrid in 2019. 

Despite facing challenges in Madrid, Hazard remains confident in his footballing abilities, ranking himself among the best. After retiring from professional football in October 2023, the 33-year-old is expected to venture into new pursuits.
