Bones Hyland is apparently of interest to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Since the deal for James Harden, LA Clippers guard Bones Hyland has not participated in rotational minutes. Despite his lack of playing time, Hyland has been a genuine professional, knowing that one day he will have his chance. However, LA’s point guard rotation of Russell Westbrook and James Harden has left no minutes for anyone else to fill that position.
Hyland’s nаme has naturally surfaced in trade rumours as a result of this development, with the Minnesota Timberwolves being one of the most recent teams to be linked to the rookie guard. Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports recently published the following in an article:
League sources claim that Minnesota is still actively shopping for a backup point guard. It is possible that Jones will end up with the Timberwolves, returning to his hometown and original organisation. According to sources, Minnesota is also considering Monte Morris and Bones Hyland, two candidates for the role who worked with team president Tim Connelly in Denver.”
It’s quite unusual for two contenders who are separated in the standings by a single game to trade, but it’s been claimed that Minnesota is considering Hyland and other backup point guard options. Hyland is only owing $4.1 million for the upcoming season, so it seems likely that the Clippers will keep him around. At twenty-three, he is still a viable insurance policy in case any guard minutes become available this or next season.
