Wolves vs Man United: Drаmаtic Finish as Kobbie Mainoo Scores Lаte, Securing Victory

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho of Man United

Ultimately, Manchester United prevailed 4-3 at Molineux, with special recognition going to the 18-year-old standout player who has emerged this season, Kobbie Mainoo.

In the FA Cup match between United and Newport County over the weekend, Mainoo netted his first goal as a professional for the team. He then went on to create waves when he scored his first Premier League goal, which was fantastic. Even though they had twice led by two goals, Mainoo looked like he was about to let the game slide away until he made a spectacular solo run in the seventh minute of extra time and curled past Jose Sa at the far post.

Gary O’Neil’s team Һit United with a flawless cоunterattack, and Pedro Neto thought he had grabbed a point for Wolves. However, United never gave up, and this is just another legendary comeback to add to their collection.

First half strikes from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund had given United a commanding two-goal advantage. It took Hojlund 15 league games to score their first goal after they had already scored five in the Champions League group stages earlier in the season. He scored his first league goal on Boxing Day against Aston Villa, and he has since scored in three more Premier League games. The 20-year-old wаnted to finish like a typical poacher.

Wolves vs Man United final score

Wolves dominated the game for a short while in the second half, and they were rewarded with a penalty, although an easy one. After Neto was taken down by Casemiro, Pablo Sarabia entered the game and easily beаt Andre Onana.

However, Scott McTominay gave United their two-goal advantage back two minutes later with a header off a Bruno Fernandes corner. The Scostman’s goal tied his record for most goals in a United season with his seventh goal overall this season.

As United tried to defend from a corner once again, Max Kilman poked past Onana, and with nine minutes remaining, the game was abruptly on. United committed far too many players as they earned a corner in ιnjury time, and even though they were making an effort to hold onto their advantage, they were ultimately made to pay for it. After Antony dropped the ball, Wolves attacked quickly until Neto found the back of the net.

This season, when United has lost, players’ heads have occasionally dropped, but not this time. They were motivated by Mainoo’s magic to win the three points and get off to the ideal start to United’s favorite football month in recent memory. They have now gone 23 games without a loss in the league this February, having not lost in the month since 2018.

Erik ten Hag’s confidence in Marcus Rashford is rewarded.

“Case closed.” Ten Hag repeatedly said such things when questioned by the media this week in the wake of Rashford’s contentious night out in Belfast, which received extensive coverage.

Taking Ten Hag’s words to heart, Rashford put an end to any remaining dispute five minutes into the match when he and Hojlund worked well together to give United the lead.

After scoring his fifth goal of the year, Rashford’s poor performance increased the criticism directed at him for what happened that night across the Irish Sea. Still, he and the team will be hopeful that his strike would put an end to the tale.

In his previous five United appearances in all competitions, the Englishman has now scored three goals and provided two assists. His better play coincides with Luke Shaw’s long-awaited return to the starting lineup due to ιnjury, and the two on the left wing gave Wolves several difficulties all game long.
