Marcus Rashford, who spent the previous evening in a nιghtclub in Belfast, has “taken rеsponsibility” for missing Friday’s Manchester United training.
After meeting with manager Erik ten Hag on Monday, Marcus Rashford and his agent brother Dwaine Maynard released a statement from the team stating that Marcus has accepted responsibility for his actions. The internal disciplinary matter pertaining to this has been resolved and closed.
According to sources, Rashford is back in training and might play against Wolves on Thursday.
After Rashford missed Sunday’s FA Cup victory at Newport County, Ten Hag had declared he would “deal with” the Manchester United player.
Rashford’s official absence from United’s 4-2 victory at Rodney Parade was attributed to illness, as Ten Hag reported that the player felt ill on Friday morning.
Prior to United’s FA Cup match, Marcus Rashford “has taken” responsibility for skipping training.
Earlier this week, Rashford was spotted going inside the Thompsons Garage nightclub in Belfast.
The United manager did, however, add affirm that it was ‘an internal situation’ in response to claims that Rashford missed training on Thursday night after attending Thompsons Garage nightclub and leaving early on Friday on a private plane.
“He reported feeling unwell.” For everyone else, it’s an internal issue. Ten Hag often stated, “I deal with it,” both before and after the game.
When asked if this was yet another instance of the “bad culture” he had earlier said he had inherited from United, the Dutchman replied, “I don’t go in this case; I’ve talked about it before.” We won the game, in my opinion, and we’re moving on.
Rashford was publically chastised by Ten Hag in October for his ‘inappropriate’ behaviour, which included celebrating his 26th birthday at China White, a popular nightclub in Manchester, just hours after United had fallen to Manchester City in the Old Trafford derby.
The club said in a statement that the situation had been resolved as an internal disciplinary one and was now closed.
Last season, when Rashford signed a new £315,000-a-week contract in the summer, he was also benched by Wolves after the player failed to show up for a squad meeting.
Ten Hag and United, who initially replied to video footage of Rashford entering Thompsons Garage by saying that they had been told it was shot on Wednesday night, which was fine because he had a day off on Thursday, were in dаnger of seeming foolish in the most recent episode.
