Reports suggest that O’Neale, Finney-Smith, and Spencer Dinwiddie from the Nets may transition from core players to trade assets.O’Neale, with a 6-10 wingspan, stands out for his defensive skills, making him a target for the Mavericks. Despite being 6-4, he could positively impact the team with current averages of 7.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.The Mavericks aim to strengthen their frontcourt and add a third ball-handler, considering the possibility of Dinwiddie returning in a sixth-man role. While Dinwiddie has struggled this season, shooting 39.4 percent overall and 32.7 percent from deep, the Mavericks believe his past success in Dallas can be replicated.Despite reservations about trading draft capital for Finney-Smith, the Mavericks may consider it if they can shed undesirable contracts while acquiring O’Neale and Dinwiddie’s expiring contracts.
