Ahead of United’s FA Cup match against Newport, the England defenders were putting in some practice.
Prior to the FA Cup fourth-round trip to Newport, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw have returned to Manchester United’s training grounds.
Although Erik ten Hag’s team has had a difficult season marred by significant absences, the Red Devils’ ιnjury problems are now starting to get better.
Last time out, United drew 2-2 with Tottenham; Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez, who entered as a 63rd-minute substitute in the Premier League match on January 14th, were back in the lineup.
After returning to training, Maguire and Shaw are expected to participate in United’s FA Cup encounter against League Two team Newport on Sunday. This will be the team’s first game since that time.
After suffering a groin ιnjury in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on December 12, Maguire has missed the last six games across all competitions.
Along with left-back Shaw, the revitalized former United captain was seen working out on Tuesday at the team’s Carrington training facility.
Due to injuries, the England full-back has only made 10 appearances this season; his most recent appearance occurred on December 23 against West Ham.
Ten Hag’s group was also seen with Amad Diallo, who hasn’t been in the last two squads.
However, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Victor Lindelof, and Anthony Martial were nowhere to be seen in the pictures. Sofyan Amrabat and Andre Onana are still competing in the Africa Cup of Nations.
