According to Ben Jacobs, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham stars are among the top targets for Middle Eastern clubs looking to recruit more big names to the league. The Saudi Pro League sought to entice Salah away from Liverpool last season, but the Premier League club refused to sell, while De Bruyne was mentioned as a prospective addition early this season.
Al-Ittihad, the reigning Saudi champions, reportedly offered £150 million for Salah last summer, but Liverpool refused. The Egypt international reмɑιns a key component for the Reds, having scored 14 goals in 20 Premier League games. The Saudi Arabian dealmakers are convinced that they can bring the 31-year-old to the Middle East, but securing him this summer is not guaranteed.
De Bruyne will also be difficult to sign in the Pro League. He recently returned to Pep Guardiola’s team after missing the season opener due to an ιnjᴜry. His contract with City, like Salah’s at Anfield, expires in 2025, but Guardiola is allegedly willing to extend it. As a result, the City would charge a massive price.
Son was also asked about a potential move to Saudi Arabia last year, but the South Korean and Spurs ꜱеnꜱation dismissed the idea.
The Saudi Pro League is willing to spend a further £2bn ($2.5bn) on new transfers in the summer transfer window as they look for new stars to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Neymar.
