Chelsea has reportedly placed a price tag of over £50M on Armando Broja, the Albanian striker who has scored just two goals this season. While Wolves, Fulham, and West Ham have shown interest, it remains uncertain if any of these clubs, or others, can meet Chelsea’s valuation. Sources suggest that foreign clubs are also expressing interest in Broja. Chelsea justifies the valuation by citing the market prices for strikers, pointing to Brighton’s £100M valuation of Evan Ferguson. Although Chelsea may entertain offers for Broja, they are likely to facilitate his departure only if they secure a replacement this month.
The club is still in the market for a striker, but the return of Christopher Nkunku from injury and Nicolas Jackson from the AFCON may mitigate the urgency. Broja, who signed a six-year contract in September 2022, has scored only twice this season. Chelsea, however, is under no pressure to sell below their valuation, as stated by president Todd Boehly during the announcement of the contract. Co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano expressed confidence in Broja’s talent and development at Chelsea.
